Students Working Against Tobacco (SWAT) Chapter Host Their Annual Fall Pumpkin Painting Event
October 23, 2023

Okeechobee SWAT Chapter hosted their annual SWAT pumpkin painting event to bring awareness to our local SWAT clubs and anti-vaping messaging. SWAT youth leaders held several meetings to brainstorm messaging and designs of the pumpkin messaging. Over 50 youth attended the event, along with appearances from the Mayor Watford City of Okeechobee, and Sheriff Noel Stephen from the Okeechobee County Sheriff Office.  This event was made possible through funding from the Children’s Services Council of Okeechobee, and a special thanks to Okeechobee County Parks and Recreation for providing the event space.

SWAT aims to empower, educate and equip Florida youth to revolt against Big Tobacco. SWAT is a movement of empowered youth working together to de-glamorize tobacco use. Their efforts aim to shape tobacco-free norms, make tobacco less desirable, less acceptable, and less accessible!
