Tobacco Free Partnership Welcomes Our Newest Team Member, Alex Tijerina
February 6, 2023

The Tobacco Free Partnership of Okeechobee is excited to announce our newest member, Alex Tijerina to our team. As a native to Okeechobee for over 30 years, the mom of 3 has a deeply rooted passion for the youth in the community. Her parents, Rico and Viki Lamberti served the community for over 19 years through their substance abuse counseling center, Breakthrough Recovery Services. The time she spent helping with the family business has aided in her drive to help the members in the community struggling with substance abuse addiction. Alex believes that early prevention is vital to substance abuse prevention and is excited to pour her knowledge into the youth of Okeechobee.

Since moving back to Okeechobee after working on her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Marketing, Alex has been involved with numerous local organizations helping to improve the community of Okeechobee. One of her favorite projects is coordinating the annual Touch A Truck event that is paired with the Okeechobee County Health and Safety Expo. Being big sports fans, Alex, her husband of 14 years Saul, and their daughter Mia, can be found most of their weekends cheering their sons, Zander and Samuel, on from the sidelines of a variety of sporting events. Her and her family also loving being active in their church and spending time with their extended family.

Alex’s role as a Tobacco Prevention Specialist will be focused mainly on our SWAT Club (Students Working Against Tobacco), how Big Tobacco targets our youth at the point of sale, and comprehensive K-12 Tobacco policies. Welcome aboard Alex! We are looking forward to seeing the work you do within our community.
