Okeechobee High School SWAT Club Rings Bell for Salvation Army
January 2, 2022

Okeechobee High School SWAT (Students Working Against Tobacco) club wanted to find a way to serve their community during this Holiday season and thought what better way to give back then to ring the bell for Salvation Army.

16 students, and one grumpy Grinch rang the bell at our local Publix and raised approximately $1,600 for the local Salvation Army.  The students dressed in their SWAT club shirts which gave them an opportunity to speak to customers about the mission and goals of the SWAT club.

SWAT aims to empower, educate and equip Florida youth to revolt against Big Tobacco. SWAT is a movement of empowered youth working together to de-glamorize tobacco use. Their efforts aim to shape tobacco-free norms, make tobacco less desirable, less acceptable, and less accessible!
