Okeechobee High School SWAT Club Participates in Santa in the Park
January 5, 2021

Okeechobee High School SWAT (Students Working Against Tobacco) club partnered with the Kiwanis Club of Okeechobee and participated in the yearly tradition of Santa in the Park.  Each year, residents of Okeechobee can come out to City Park over the span of 5 days and have their pictures taken with Santa and speak to Santa about their Christmas wishes.  This year the SWAT club sponsored this event in order to allow more interaction with the youth and adults in attendance. The students dressed in their SWAT club shirts which gave them an opportunity to speak to attendees about the mission and goals of the SWAT club.

SWAT aims to empower, educate, and equip Florida youth to revolt against Big Tobacco. SWAT is a movement of empowered youth working together to de-glamorize tobacco use. Their efforts aim to shape tobacco-free norms, make tobacco less desirable, less acceptable, and less accessible.
